During an internship at Indicum interior architects in 2021, I was in charge of curating and organising an exhibition to launch Indicum Studio, their brand new, explorational design program which exists to provide space for creative and artistic exploration.
In this project I chose to paint my own paintings. My paintings, which were the starting point for the exhibition, show an interpretation of Indicum’s work process in concept development. In line with Indium’s work process, I developed four different concepts, which I then interpreted in the form of paintings. I then chose to further develop two of the concepts that resulted in a painting each. The final concept became a mixture of these two concepts and resulted in two paintings titled “Forever Lost In Clown Land”.
The spatial design emerged with a starting point and inspiration taken from my paintings. Participating artists and their design objects were specifically chosen to let a vision of colour, texture and form emerge from a two-dimensional to a three-dimensional space.

I'VE GOT TIME
Vi konsumenter förväntar oss av trä, och specifikt möbler gjorda av trä, att de är perfekta, homogena, och utan avvikelse i färg och mönster. Vi begär av ett naturmaterial att uppföra sig artificiellt, i en värld där allt måste vara perfekt. Allt levande material måste tyglas och göras dött.
Det här pågående projektet ifrågasätter vårt slit och släng och vår överdrivna perfektionism. Den första möbeln i min serie “I’ve got time” är detta sidobord, gjort av överblivet KL-trä i furu - ett levande material som får förändras med tiden - och uppskattas för just det.
Jag valde att arbeta med trä, eftersom det är unikt, ingen del är den andra lik, det är levande och rörligt och förändras med tiden. Något som var viktigt för just mig och detta projekt, var att använda material som annars hade sorterats bort - pga minimala imperfektioner. En kvist på fel ställe. En spricka här och där. Delar som inte ens dög för att bli en osynlig innervägg, fick en ny chans i livet - som möbel.
Min önskan med denna produktserie är att väcka intresse, hos den slit-och-släng generationen jag tillhör, för trämaterialets unika egenskaper och livslängd. Vi lever i en upplysningens tid där hållbarhet är ledordet - få saker är så hållbart som ett bord i massivt trä - en möbel för kommande generationer. Det timglasformade bordsbenet får symbolisera detta.
