I often get the questions what kind of paint I use and how I create my paintings. Well now, it wouldn't be fun if I revealed all my secrets and tricks, but I thought I'll show you some of my essentials that I use when I paint.
The most important thing, the paint. The one I normally use is a kind of acrylic enamel paint for furnitures. I get most of my colours from Flügger Färg. I also use normal acrylic paint every now and then.
One thing that I can't paint without is a wooden blending stick. I use it to blend the paint, to drip the paint and to even out the paint. Such a simple but magical tool!
I also use this thin brush to get rid of dust, hair or flies (stupid bastards) that has accidentally landed on the canvas. It's also a great tool to blend paint in specific areas.
I'm thrilled to be painting again but of course, just because I finally hade a couple of days off to create I get ill. So I'm just gonna lie in bed and read Harry Potter (in Spanish...
Before I shipped my paintings to Sweden I turned my art studio into a photo studio to photograph my paintings (and me). Here I am with my paintings entitled "La Malvarrosa" no. 1 & 2.
Now I really miss my studio in Valencia! And I miss the relaxed atmosphere and the time I had to paint and focus on my art when I where in Spain. Only 46 days left until I go back to lovely Valencia!
I've been so busy since I came back to Stockholm that I haven't had time to paint. It has really started to itch in my fingers... I need to paint! Hopefully I'll be able to do some painting next week when I'm not working so much.
Wow! I can't believe it's 2018 already. Time flies when you are having fun and when you have tons of stuff to do.
Since I came back to Sweden the schedule has been packed with seeing friends, celebrating Christmas (first with my family in Jönköping and then with Victors family in Mariefred), helping organising a New Years Eve party (with 150 guests! On a boat!) and on top of all the fun I've been working a lot in a the photo shop that I used to work in. AND... I've also been planning some new exciting things! I'll let you know soon, stay tuned!
I thought I'll sum up my 2017 with a few images. 2017 has definitely been one of my best years so far. I've finally had more time to focus on my art, I got to return to the city and country that I love and I've had a few exhibitions and sold a few paintings. Thank you for all for your love and support! I can't wait to see what 2018 has in store for Art by Vo.
